In order to help clients think strategically and
creatively about how they interact with various audiences
and ensure all PR initiatives are structured for
maximum impact, LGPR breaks the communications process
down into three interconnected components.
- The Message: Clear,
digestible, “sticky” messaging is a powerful
business asset. How key messages are packaged
and the context in which they are presented matters.
Understanding what conversations to have, with whom,
what to stress in those conversations and when to have
them enables start-ups to become as intentional and
strategic with PR as they are with their sales efforts.
It’s
the difference between being interviewed and getting
covered, being heard and being remembered, between
being a part of and standing out in a crowd.
- The Messenger: How
a person presents information directly impacts the
way it is received. LGPR combines fundamental
communications strategies with the subtleties of a
person’s personality and speaking style to ensure
that the face and the content of the message are aligned. The
messenger also refers to specific PR programs and tactics. Understanding
when it best serves a company to place a product review
as opposed to a contributed article or a FaceBook survey.
- The
Audience: Public Relations is the practice
of sharing information with various audiences (or “publics.”) At
the end of the day, it’s all about people
communicating with other people. The best
communicators intuitively focus on their audience
and are able to tune their conversation to their
needs. For those not so naturally inclined,
the PR function ensures a company spokesperson
understands the needs and nature of the person
they will be speaking to. The ability to add value
to both parties involved in an exchange is the
secret to both effective communications and relationship
development.
We believe the art and science
of communications relates to identifying and establishing
synergies between these elements. When that occurs is when the real magic
happens, and “3-D visibility” is established.
It’s no mean feat to create mass appeal for complicated technology products. But
you can create focused appeal, and then push those conversations outwards to
places they might not ordinarily go. Proudly sitting at the intersection
of art and science, Looking Glass Public Relations is dedicated to promoting
the innovation that our clients bring to the table, one conversation, one interview,
and one press release at a time. |
